Department of Sports Medicine
The Sports Medicine Department at the University of Mary Washington is responsible for the health care of all intercollegiate student athletes on the University's 23 sports teams. The department of sports medicine strives to prevent, evaluate, treat and rehabilitate athletic injuries.

Facilities
Hours of Operation
The current hours of operation for the summer are by appointment only. Please note that preference is always given to in-season athletes.
Goolrick Gymnasium
The Goolrick athletic training room is staffed by 2 certified athletic trainers with the help of student workers and volunteers. The room is equipped with 5 treatment tables where ultrasound, electric stimulation, biofeedback, bio-compression and several other state of the art modalities are used. There is also a taping area for pre-practice preparation and plenty of room available to perform therapy and exercises with a variety of rehab equipment.
Physical Plant
The Physical Plant Athletic Training Room serves as a satellite facility and is not permanently staffed. This facility is used for pre-competition preparation and taping. There is currently one ultrasound and electric stimulation machine, moist heat packs and a whirlpool available.

Welcome to the University of Mary Washington's Department of Sports Medicine, we look forward to your visit to our school. The main athletic training room is located in Goolrick Hall off of College Avenue in room 102 and the satellite athletic training room is located in the physical plant building off of Hanover Street. Please contact the athletic training staff to determine which room will be available for your use prior to each competition. Please feel free to use the athletic training room for taping and all of your modality needs.
We realize that often times you are unable to accompany your team. If you will not be sending a Certified Athletic Trainer with your team please contact us or send written instructions regarding the necessary care and treatment for your athletes. We ask that you please provide your own taping supplies and we will do our best to meet your team's needs.
The following will be available at each competition:
- Water
- Cups
- 2 Towels
- Crutches
- Splints
- AED (within 4 minutes to the competition site)
