UMW
Women's Tennis Head Coach Patrick Catullo

|
In just two seasons, University of Mary Washington alumnus Patrick Catullo has already picked up the banner for UMW women's tennis, and plans on carrying back to the glory days of the 1980's and 1990's. Catullo, who played in the Mary Washington program for four years, returned to UMW in 2004-05, having won two consecutive National Junior College Association of America national championships as the women's coach at Broward Community College in Florida. "We’re really excited to have Patrick on board, and believe that he will bring the same kind of success that he's had at Broward", said UMW Athletic Director Ed Hegmann. "The student athletes involved feel he can lead them to the next level of NCAA success. The fact that he is a UMW alumnus and his familiarity with the standard excellence here makes him a perfect fit."
Catullo coached at Broward Community College since 2000, and produced thirty state champions, twelve national champions, and 23 All-Americans. His Seahawk teams posted a 76-22 overall record, including a 43-1 conference mark during that time. Prior to his work at Broward CC, where he also worked as sports information director and assistant athletic coordinator, he served as an assistant coach at Flagler College and as a tennis pro at the ATP Country Club in Ponte Vedre, Florida. He is a member of the USPTR, and is a certified teaching professional from that organization.
"There is a distinguished honor about the women's team and a great tradition of success. I look forward to challenges as well as the successes that lay ahead for the UMW Tennis Team, said the Eagle coach." Catullo and his wife, Linda, and two sons reside in Fredericksburg.
